What would you say are the top 3 skills that needed to be a successful entrepreneur? Why?Ĭonfidence, self belief, and a positive outlook. I had existing clients who wanted to continue working with me, so I wasn’t having to start from a completely blank slate, which helped give me confidence in myself. Additionally, I knew that if it didn’t work out, I could go back to another company, so I might as well give it a try. I moved to Oxford a year before establishing CubanEight and began to work at another PR agency, but I soon realised I wanted to do my own thing and build a company myself. How and when did you know your idea was good enough to develop it? What is your definition of entrepreneurship?įrom my experiences and observations, I would say it’s about wanting to build something different that you have belief in. After my time there, I freelanced for a while before deciding to utilise the skills and experience I had by setting up my own agency, and so I self-founded CubanEight 12 years ago. It was a great entrepreneurial environment that gave lots of opportunity and empowerment to its team to learn new skills. Later, I moved to an agency called Hotwire that my former boss had set up, and I was there for 5 years. ![]() After that, I moved to a global tech PR agency, Weber Shandwick, which I loved! It was great getting to work with lots of innovators, and the company had a very global outlook due to running multi-market campaigns. ![]() From there, I found myself in tech PR through working in publishing focussed PR agency at a time when books were becoming more digitalised in format. I studied English at University of Birmingham and wasn’t quite sure what to do after graduation! I got my first PR role working for Channel 4’s Schools division supporting their educational programming with teaching resources and events. What is your background? What made you decide to get involved in supporting entrepreneurs? We expect that with further advancements in AI and IoT, TeamSpirit will one day become a supportive assistant the likes of R2-D2. This positive cycle will keep TeamSpirit a constantly high-functioning and easy to use service. Using feedback from all of our customers, we will work to improve regular functions and ask for further evaluation. However, we have just gotten started on activities to improve worker performance. TeamSpirit collects the activities of workers in a log to provide visibility on how they work, and to show what their important activities are and whether they are prioritizing their time toward those important activities.Ĭontinue being a customer service company that offers new values. These kinds of teams are common in TV shows, comics, sports, and even pop groups, but as of yet cannot be found in many workplaces. Put simply, our ideal workstyle is to have a team where everyone acts as a hero or heroine. This caused us to think seriously about what makes an ideal society, and we made a bold change of direction toward SaaS (Software as a Service: provision of IT services through the Internet) activities to create services needed by society. In other words, it means always being needed by society.įrom our past experience being entrusted with development, we have learned that customers do not simply want a program that is made exactly to their demands rather, they are looking for a service that even they did not realize they wanted. We believe that to “work” is to “contribute to society”. ![]() How exciting to think that this ideal future is around the corner. Our unique fantasies and visions will become jobs. Simple repetitive work and past analysis can be left to machines while we think about how to build tomorrow. We believe that in the future it will be important to master machinery rather than compete with it. However, we feel optimistic about change. Some people might fear that this change will cause them to lose their jobs, or feel a vague anxiety about ominous sci-fi concepts like the singularity. Remarkable advances in AI, IoT, and robotics have brought a great wave of change that might even be called a new Industrial Revolution.
